Introduction
A screenshot is an image taken of whatever’s on your screen. Today, we’re going to show you the four easiest ways to take a screenshot no matter what device you’re using.
You might take a screenshot to capture an error message, save an image to edit or share later, or simply to document something you see on your screen. Regardless of the reason, taking a screenshot is a useful skill to know.
Section 1-
Hit the PrtScn button/ PrtScn button on your keyboard
: The most basic way to take a screenshot is to simply press the “PrtScn” (Print Screen) button on your keyboard. When you press this button, the screenshot usually gets recorded. But the catch is that it won’t appear anywhere but the clipboard. This means it won’t show up saved in your files, so if you need to move or store it, you’d have to do so manually. The other alternative is to press both the “Windows” key and the “PrtScn” key at the same time. This will automatically save a screenshot of your entire screen. You’ll find this saved as a .png file in your Pictures folder, in the “Screenshots” folder. Section 2-
Use the Snipping Tool
: The Snipping Tool is another easy way to take screenshots on Windows. This tool can capture visible elements on your screen like pop-up menus and tooltips. Plus, it has a few extra editing tools to help annotate your screenshot before saving it. To find the Snipping Tool, go to the Start menu and search “Snipping Tool.” Once you’ve opened the Snipping Tool, you can take a screenshot of any area on your screen. When you capture it, the screenshot will open inside the Snipping Tool window and you will have options to annotate it with arrows, shapes, text, and more. When you’re happy with the image you’ve taken and the annotations, you can save it by clicking “File” and “Save as”. Section 3-
Use the Game Bar in Windows 10
: The Game Bar is part of the Xbox app in Windows 10, and you can use it to take screenshots and record videos. To open the Game Bar, press “Windows” + “G”. This will open the bar on the side of your screen and you’ll be able to access the screenshot options from there. You can take a full screenshot of your screen, a window screenshot, or a screenshot of a certain area. Once you’ve taken the screenshot, it will be automatically saved in your “Videos” folder. Section 4-
Take a screenshot on your iPhone
: Taking a screenshot on an iPhone is very easy—all you need to do is press both the “Sleep/ Wake” button (on the side of the phone) and the “Home” button (the circle button at the bottom of the phone) at the same time. This will take a picture of whatever is currently on your phone’s screen, and you’ll hear a shutter sound. The screenshot you take will appear as a thumbnail at the bottom left corner of your iPhone. To view the screenshot you’ve taken, go to “Photos”. Conclusion: Taking screenshots is a great skill to master, and now you know how to do it on the four most popular devices. With the “PrtScn” button, the Snipping Tool, the Game Bar in Windows 10, or your iPhone, you’ll be able to take a screenshot in no time.
